Lawrence G. Gettys

Lawrence G. Gettys is the managing partner of the Baton Rouge office. He has represented thousands of Louisiana clients with mesothelioma and other diseases caused by exposure to asbestos in parishes throughout the state. An accomplished trial lawyer, he has handled hundreds of hearings and served as counsel at trials that resulted in significant victories for his clients. “I love what I do”, he says. “I cannot think of a better feeling than finding justice for a family that may have otherwise not had representation.”

Prior to joining Robins Cloud LLP, Lawrence was the managing partner in the Louisiana offices of Brent Coon & Associates. Before joining Brent Coon, Lawrence was a shareholder with Baron & Budd P.C. and managed their Louisiana offices. He opened Baron & Budd’s Louisiana location in 1998 and remained there for 10 years.

Well-known in Louisiana legal circles, Lawrence is on the Board of Governors of the Louisiana Association for Justice and is active in the Baton Rouge and Louisiana Bar Associations. Prior to beginning private practice, he served as a law clerk for Judge James J. Best of the 18th Judicial District Court.

Lawrence was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1995, the Texas Bar in 2001, and is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana. He holds professional memberships with the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Louisiana Association for Justice, Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Baton Rouge Bar Association.

Lawrence graduated cum laude from the Southern Law Center and served on the Moot Court Board while in law school. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He is married and has four children.
